Diversified
experience in Mexican art cultures,
Pre-Columbian, and present day art expression.
Coordinated large purchases, packing,
transportation, and guarantee of deliveries for
various collections. Owned and operated
galleries, resulting in successfully working
with and being in charge of others in related
fields. Educational qualifications include a
Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of
California, Los Angeles and the first Master of
Fine Arts Degree majoring in Ceramics and
Ceramic Chemistry (60 units) also from the
University of California, Los Angeles.
I have diversified experience in the art of slab
work and thrown pottery. This includes extensive
knowledge in ceramic glaze and oxide decoration.
My teaching experience encompasses all levels of
ceramic design and construction. I have
instructed in and supervised all aspects of
reduction and oxidation firing of a gas kiln,
including high-fire ceramics and raku. This also
incorporated the firing of electric kilns for
high color an fine luster work.
All of the above on hands experience has given
me an extensive working knowledge of ceramic
chemistry and therefore the ability to ascertain
authentic cultural styles and authentic aging
and patina on artifact surfaces.
